Who we are
We conduct research to identify best practices for election administration and to identify vulnerabilities in election systems. ERI’s research examines all aspects of election administration and identifies the processes that undermine accountability and transparency as well as those processes the have the most significant impact on election security.
The research enables the development of strategies, recommendations, procedures, and technology to mitigate vulnerabilities in government systems. The research also supports efforts to ensure government accountability and transparency through education and through litigation when appropriate.
ERI shares research findings with the public and provides educational opportunities for citizens and election officials to better understand election systems through training, forums, panels, and educational events.
